    On May 3, 2024, at approximately 0008 hours, Seward AST responded to a single vehicle crash at mile 38.5 of the Seward Highway. Investigation revealed Daniel Gross, age 23 of Soldotna, was driving under the influence which led to the crash that totaled his vehicle. Gross was arrested, transported to Seward for further testing and was eventually released on his own recognizance with conditions and a future court date.

    On 05/03/2024 at about 2216 hours, Seward AST responded to a single motor vehicle collision on the Seward Highway in Crown Point. The driver of the recked vehicle was identified as Dorothy Norris, 35 YOA of Anchorage. The investigation revealed that Dorothy drove off the roadway and crashed into a railroad crossing post which sent her vehicle airborne. Dorothy’s vehicle knocked one of the red flashing lights off the railroad crossing post and her vehicle came to rest upside down on the railroad tracks. Further investigation revealed that Dorothy was driving under the influence (DUI) of drugs and in possession of psilocybin mushrooms (also known as magic mushrooms). Dorothy was placed under arrest for DUI and misconduct involving controlled substances (MICS) in the 5th degree. Dorothy was remanded to Wildwood Pretrial on the aforementioned charges. Dorothy’s bail was set at $500 due to a prior DUI conviction.

    On 05/04/2024, at approximately 2124 hours, AST was notified about a vehicle in a ditch in the Soldotna area. AST responded and discovered that the operator of the vehicle, Willow King, age 43 of Soldotna, was impaired by alcoholic beverages and had a cancelled operator's license. She was arrested for driving while license cancelled and driving under the influence. Her breath alcohol concentration was almost three times the .08 g/210L per se limit. She was remanded at the Wildwood pretrial center.

    On 05/03/2024 at about 2119 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a disturbance at a residence on Willow Circle. Investigation revealed that Jason Graham, age 19 of Ketchikan assaulted a family member. Graham was also found to be violating current conditions of release by not obeying State Laws. Graham was transported and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center with No Bail.

    On 05/04/24 at 2047 hours, AST responded to an address in Wasilla for the report of a disturbance. Investigation revealed that, Vitaly Minaev, age 64 of Wasilla, had assaulted another person. Vitaly was arrested and transported to MSPT where he was held without bail.

    On 05/04/2024 at approximately 0653 hours, AST responded to a residence near Goldhill Road for a report of an active disturbance. Investigationshowed Martin Zuver, age 23 of Fairbanks assaulteda household member. Martin was arrested and remanded at FCC for Assault 2nd Degree and Misconduct Involving a Firearm 4th Degree.

    On 05/03/2024 at approximately 1920 hours Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop near Mile 228 Parks Highway for a moving violation. Investigation determined the driver, Ailey Hill, age 21 from Wasilla was driving with a revoked license. Hill was issued a misdemeanor summons for DWLR and multiple citations. The vehicle was released to a licensed driver.

    Type: MVC-moose, Failure to Report Hitting Big Game

    On 05/02/2024 at 1724 hours AST in Cantwell located a deceased moose near Mile 208 Parks Highway. Investigation determined the moose had been hit by a GMC truck or SUV in the previous day. The driver failed to report the moose was struck and deceased and subsequently the moose was not able to be salvaged. The investigation continues into the identity of the driver.

    On 5-3-24 at about 2336 hours, AST attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding. The vehicle attempted to elude and a pursuit was initiated. Ultimately, the vehicle crashed and the driver was identified as Lucas Jagels, age 45 of North Pole. Jagels was transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. He will be booked when medically cleared.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 05/03/2024 at approximately 2048 hours, AST received multiple REDDI reports of a vehicle driving dangerously Southbound on the Parks Hwy. The reports indicated a blue Toyota Tundra was failing to maintain its lane of travel. AST from Nenana responded and located the truck which got stuck while attempting to hide in a near by gravel pit. Investigation showed the driver, Bradford Baldwin, 46 of Anchorage, was driving while under the influence of alcohol. Bradford was arrested for DUI and Refusal to submit to a Chemical test. He was transported to FCC and held on $500 bail. AST noted multiple joggers in the area during the investigation and ask that anyone with additional information contact AST at 907-451-5100.

    On 05/04/2024 at approximately 1957 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a complaint of a missing juvenile in the Fairbanks area. While Troopers were responding the incident location, the juvenile was located at an adjacent property by the complainant. A missing person report was generated to document the circ*mstances.

    On May 4, 20204 1510 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately (REDDI) Report. The caller stated that a red Camaro was driving on the Mitchel Expressway, was swerving in the roadway, and could not maintain its lane of travel.The driver of the vehicle was contactedon Chena Pump Rd. After further investigation, Joseph Nowell, age 60ofFairbanks, was arrested for DUI and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center without incident.

AK Wildlife Troopers

    Dispatch Text:

    On 05/03/2024 at approximately 2000 hours, Alaska Wildlife Troopers were notified by DoT that they received a call for assistance from a bear baiting party of four on the Klutina Lake Road. The party reported that a landslide had blocked the road at approximately mile 12 with one ATV disabled beyond the slide path. Wildlife troopers responded by ATV and escorted the party to safety. It was noted that the road had snow drifts up to three feet deep in areas and DoT would be unable to access the slide immediately. Trooper pilots observed the slide by air on 05/04 and provided photos to DoT for assessment. Travel beyond the slide area is not recommended until repairs are accomplished.
