Great show. Suitable for teens

The show was, in my opinion underrated and under promoted. It should’ve been a higher grossing tv show. The characters were dark and enigmatic. The settings were awesome. Overall great show. Violence is blown way out of proportion by critics and over protective prissy mothers. I watched this with my 12 and 16 yo boys and they loved it. If I’d had an 11 yo I would have let them watch it

Great show… for ADULTS who can handle extreme violence.

It’s pretty sad to see so many ratings on here saying parents are letting their young kids watch this. This is an adult show with graphic violence throughout every episode. The violence is over the top, showing faces beaten so repeatedly that their face structure actually changes… every detail shown. Loads of brutal shootings, stabbings, beatings and broken bones in which details are shown close up. Someone has the skin on their face brutally scraped with glass, several torture scenes, eye gouging, stomping continuously on faces. Kids have zero need to see this level of violence. No wonder we have some of the problems we do today. I watch a lot of violent shows… Vikings, war movies, zombies and other gory shows, but this made me look away several times. Please let kids be kids. They can choose to watch this kind of violence on their own when they’re adults. I personally don’t care much about “adult” language, but there was a lot in this series. 3 or 4 sex scenes that I can recall. One that’s a bit more than the others and shows mild nudity. Additionally there are many themes are adult in nature including severe war PTSD and support group discussions, and grief after death causing violent mental illness.

Very good, but also very gory.

This show is amazing. There are some sex scenes though which I recommend fast fowarding. There are also extremely violent scenes. If you fast forward the sex scenes and some violent scenes, I’d say 13+ or 14+.

Great Show but not for kids

This is a very dark, complex and violent programme. This is not for kids, the violence is explicit and the themes adult in nature, nonetheless this is the best vigilante/ vengeance tv programme I can think of, John Bernthal owns the character.

Extremely Violent, Extremely Excellent

The Punisher has always been a man of violence and this show baths in that fact. Jon Bernthal’s version of The Punisher is an extremely emotionally broken and very angry character. This show takes place after Season Two of “Daredevil” and follows Frank Castle after he hangs up the mantle of The Punisher but unwillingly gets dragged back into the life of punishment when he gets blackmailed by someone who shares a common enemy. Meanwhile a cunning FBI agent is on Frank’s tale w/ help from one of Frank’s old friends. This show is ultimately a cat and mouse show mixed w/ a revenge tale show. It can be fast paced and slow paced but you’re so invested that it never bothers you when the pace slows down. Even despite the large amounts of graphically bloody violence there is plenty of scenes of story and character development dialogue. The acting is top of the line just like in NETFLIX’s “Daredevil”. Jon Bernthal is phenomenal as the troubled and emotionally distraught Frank Castle. Jon Bernthal clearly and subtly shows the nuances of the character. Ebon Moss-Bachrach was another perfect casting as his portrayal of Micro is beautiful and strong. Ebon’s struggles are clearly shown w/ such realism that every moment watching him as he watches his wife and kids through a security camera is haunting and tragic. Amber Rose Revah is excellent as the tenacious but morally incorruptible FBI agent; Madani. Amber shows off her acting skills by displaying a wide array of different emotions w/ real life authenticity and conviction. Ben Barnes as Billy Russo takes some time to warm up to especially if you’re accustomed to Dominic West’s really good (albeit comic book styled) performance in “Punisher: War Zone”. Ben’s performance is much more subtle and a lot slower so he takes time to warm up to. Lastly is Paul Schulze as Rawlins who gives a performance that is really good and very enjoyable. Paul portrays a very manipulative and power hungry man who secretly has a hidden anger inside him. For the very most part Paul portrays the character very well. The violence in this show is very graphic and very bloody. There is a lot of violence in it which involves shootings, stabbings, beatings and eye gouging. Throughout the show many people are shot resulting in large blood splatters and people are stabbed or sliced which results in a lot of bleeding. In the first episode three men are brutally beaten w/ a sledgehammer resulting in broken bones and bloody wounds. In a later episode a man gets beaten so badly that his head is almost caved in and then he gets his eyes gouged out. There are numerous instances of brutal violence that is way too violent and graphic for any young person.Sex in this show is not overly graphic but breasts and ass can be scene. A majority of the sex scenes depicted are in missionary position and are between a man and woman.Language is often used and a majority of it is s-words w/ some (albeit infrequent) uses of the f-word.Alcohol and substances are present throughout the show. Frank is seen constantly drinking alcohol, more than any other character. Micro is occasionally seen drinking too as well as a couple of other characters. Heroin is mentioned here and there but nothing explicit regarding the drug is shown on the show. All up; this is a phenomenal show based on a character who has deserved this incredible representation for a long time. Acting is ridiculously good, the drama is gripping and the action scenes are brutally great. The show while incredible is also incredibly violent and extremely brutal. This show is no way for anyone under eighteen but anyone eighteen or over should definitely watch this w/out question!!!

Masterful filmmaking as it is-- The Punisher brings the pain

I'll say it like it is. With a title like "The Punisher," what did you come to expect? This is one of (if not the most) violent shows ever created. Graphic wartime violence, urban shootouts (with civilian casualties), stabbings, fiery explosions, public bombings, beatings, and the most intense and bloody torture sequence EVER filmed only begin to describe what it encompasses. Throw in some salty language (you can expect sh*t, at the worst) and a dose of realistic sex scenes, and you are left with a show that kids should not see until high school, despite the connection to Marvel Studios (the people behind big superhero blockbusters like The Avengers, Black Panther, Spider-Man, etc. etc.). Now, with all that critical CSM guidance stuff aside, it goes without saying that The Punisher is a landmark for not only Marvel Studios (as it diversifies their content, amidst all the gory shenanigans), but for thriller shows as a whole. The show begins with a loud, bloody, bang, as we see a montage of Frank Castle, a.k.a. The Punisher, killing like a dozen people. Then it slows down. Way, way, down. The show takes this time in between action sequences to develop characters and build relationships between Frank and the rest of the supporting cast. It also contains some really strong (while controversial) messages about the importance of family and provides some much needed social commentary about PTSD and war-torn veterans. But good luck finding a role model. The main character is practically a serial killer with a moral compass.Aside from a low point around mid-season 1, the perfect balance between drama and action really makes The Punisher stand out among the other gratuitously violent Marvel shows and makes it a perfect pick for mature 16+ year olds.

Amazing but Shocking

I LOVE this series. I feel like it's an accurate portrayal of the series and it incorporates Daredevil which is kind of fun. I was very shocked with the amount of adult content though. Although the focus of this series is violence, there is plenty of sexual references, acts, jokes, an almost completely naked woman etc... I would not encourage any child under the age of 17 to view this series.
