Raspberry Cream Cheese Jello Salad Recipe (1)

Jello salad is a staple at our family gatherings and holiday dinners and this recipe is going to quickly become your favorite!

It’s easy to make – you actually BLEND all the ingredients together in a blender and then pour it into a dish to let it set up. This jello is so smooth and creamy!

Raspberry Cream Cheese Jello salad can be made-ahead of time (I would recommend making it the day before at the earliest) and served with whipped cream and fresh raspberries on top.

Raspberry Cream Cheese Jello Salad Recipe (2)

Ingredients needed for this Raspberry Cream Cheese Jello Salad

  1. 1 can of pears
  2. Water
  3. Box of raspberry jello
  4. 1 package of cream cheese
  5. 1 carton of Cool Whip

Why is this called a salad?

Many of our jello recipes are called “salads” – they may not be the typical green salad that you are used to, but they are usually a combination of ingredients tossed together – which is one of the definitions of a salad. 🙂

Many years ago, jello was mixed with vegetables like grated carrots or diced celery. Some also added nuts, fruit, cottage cheese, and pretzels. The combination of these ingredients set in the gelatin gave it a “salad-like” appearance, which is why they started calling it jello salad.

Regardless of if this recipe counts as a salad or not does not really matter – the taste is amazing and everyone will love this recipe!

OMG! I thought our family was the only one to make this! We call it "Pink Jello" and it is at almost every gathering our family has. We love it!

  2. Deborah says:

What size jello, pears, and coolwhip? I am excited to make for our Christmas dinner.

  3. MARGIE says:

Can I put everything in a food processor?

  4. Cyd says:

You didn't scroll down far enough on the post to the full recipes with ingredients and instructions.

  5. Sandra Jacob says:

Missing some ingredient *amounts*. Anyone know this information. What (size can) of pears are used? What size (package) of jello is used. 1 3 oz. or 1 6 oz package? What (size) package of cream cheese is used? And what size container of the Cool Whip is used?

  6. Karyn says:

I don't have a blender. Can I get the same consistency with a hand mixer?? Or a little at a time in a small smoothie maker?!!?

  7. Cyd says:

Hi Sandra, you need to scroll down to the recipe. All of the recipe ingredients, amounts, and directions are there. You are at the top of the recipe where it gives an overview of how to make the recipe. It's not all of the details.

  8. Dawn says:

what is cool whip what can be used instead

  9. Cyd says:

Cool Whip is a non dairy whipped topping found in the freezer section at the grocery store. Here is a post I found on Cool Whip replacements. We have never used it in this recipe. https://www.365daysofbakingandmore.com/stabilized-whipped-cream/

  10. Lisette says:

My hubs is allergic to pears. Is there something I can use instead?

  11. Cyd says:

We have not substituted anything for the pears in this salad. But we have other raspberry salads.https://www.sixsistersstuff.com/recipe/fluffy-raspberry-jell-o-salad/https://www.sixsistersstuff.com/recipe/raspberry-cheesecake-fluff-salad/https://www.sixsistersstuff.com/recipe/raspberry-pretzel-jello-saladdessert/

  12. Stephanie Derringer says:

All I have is a 15oz size can of pears, does it really make that big of a difference? I have the right amounts for all other ingredients.

  13. Melinda Smith says:

Can I add raspberries into the jello salad itself? Will it set?

  14. Cyd says:

We have only made this jello salad as directed in the recipe. So we aren't sure if it would have a hard time setting up if you added raspberries directly into the salad. We ususally place them around the slice.

  15. Rebekah says:

This was very delicious. I used my Vitamix to blend the pears, cream cheese and some of the cool whip, then I whisked the jello mixture with it. Came out great!

  16. Cyd Adamson says:

Hi Rebekah. Thanks for letting us know about the vitamix to blend! Super helpful for everyone!

  17. Jeanette says:

Will this work if using a jello mold? Do you think it is stiff enough?

  18. Momma Cyd says:

We have not ever tried it in a jello mold. But it should work if you spray the mold well. This salad sets up pretty well.

  19. Mira says:

All I can say is. . . WOW and DELISH(ious).

  20. Nancy says:

I made this jello, although with all the ingredients it over filled the blender. I then divided it and did half and half Had a good taste but was very sweet.
